Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] alphabet26, who as always, has the best memes:

1. Reply to this post telling me to pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

Content and Happy Cissie: Okay, so I do some role-playing, and I generally play Cissie King-Jones, who is awesome. And I decided that if she were a real person, she would look like Amanda Bynes. And this is just a cute picture and ironically, I do not use this icon in my Cissie journals (weirdly!), but I have it here because--she just looks so happy. I don't use it as much as I should.

Vikings discovered America: I am Norwegian, so of course I land firmly in the "Leif Erikson was here first!" camp. Columbus day is really Columbus Protest Day. I have a shirt! It has the Viking routes of exploration on it--I bought it when we were in Bergen. Anyway, this is apparently a quote from Buffy--I think it is an Oz quote--but I forget the context. But who needs context! Vikings! Here first! ::waves Norwegian flag::

Curiousity killed Schrodinger's cat: Schrodinger's Cat confuses the hell out of me and I don't even pretend to get it, but this icon never fails to amuse me. I tend to use it when feeling silly, ironic, clever or confused, or a combination thereof. I also use it to pretend I'm smarter than I am. ;)

Here for you: Oh, George and Izzie. I really hate how the last few seasons have gone with them, and I miss their best friendship--and at the point I made this icon, they were both still single and I liked the idea of George/Izzie. But I vastly prefer them as Best Friends, and this scene happens when George's dad is dying and Izzie is being supportive. So I may not like how things have gone with them since then, I still like the icon and it works for being supportive.

Paper clippies!: ...I have a real, serious weakness for office supplies. I LOVE these little clippy thingies--they are godsends when teaching, btw, for holding together groups of papers to grade. And for job applications and JUST ANYTHING. Also, these are pretty, pretty colors.

...I really do have issues with brevity, don't I?

I might drag out some coloring books or do some reading. I need a pick-me-up tonight, I think. (Although 27 Dresses is on HBO and that movie makes me happy. Currently James Marsden is singing and dancing to "Bennie and the Jets." Does not get better than that.)
